Grabban, desperate for a move back to Bournemouth, was due to be a substitute at the New York Stadium, but he took a train back to Norwich instead. His disappearance from the hotel was only discovered when he failed to appear for a team meeting at 4.15pm, just three and a half hours before kick off.
