Miguel Cotto wants a rematch with Floyd Mayweather if undefeated American decides not to retire after Andre Berto bout

WBC world middleweight champion Miguel Cotto has made it clear he wants one last shot against Floyd Mayweather. Cotto lost by unanimous decision to Mayweather in May 2012 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Afterwards, undefeated Mayweather hailed Cotto has 'the toughest guy I fought'.

Mayweather's $10.6m knockout set of supercars: Boxing star parks fleet outside his Las Vegas gym as he counts down to fight No 49

Floyd Mayweather, 38, is no stranger to showing off his expensive possessions, and five more of his big-money purchases were on display at his gym during one of his training sessions. He arrived at the Mayweather Boxing Club for his latest session ahead of his fight against Andre Berto next month in his brand new $4.8m Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita.

Nelson: Rigondeaux the real champ

Carl Frampton's possible showdown with Scott Quigg moved a step closer after his Saturday stoppage, but Johnny Nelson believes there's another super-bantamweight who rules the roost. Carl Frampton Carl Frampton IBF champion 20-0 Belfast, N Ireland 28 years old He looked like a world champion. Chris Avalos didn’t come to lay down. I liked his control, his calmness and his punch picking. He found his range for the right hand excellently and took advantage of the left hook which he knew Avalos was vulnerable to. He wasn’t trigger happy, he was patient and cautious. It was a very mature – physically and emotionally – performance. The straight right that he landed, he didn’t go mad with it, because it wasn’t a lucky shot. He meant to throw it, he planned it and set it up. He was calculated, even when he finished the job he looked like ‘what did you expect?’ Only a handful of fighters with world titles truly believe they are the best in the world. Does Deontay Wilder? No, he knows Wladimir Klitschko is out there. Frampton believes he is the best. Scott Quigg WBA champion 30-0-2 (KO 22) Bury, Lancashire 26 years old Scott Quigg I’m not disrespecting him, or undermining what he’s achieved, but I’m still looking for his defining fight. Frampton is Premier League and Quigg is just getting into that division but needs a big match. That match might be against Frampton. His style is completely different but it’s effective otherwise he wouldn’t be world champion. It’s frustrating because you’d like to see Quigg have the opportunity to prove he’s as good as Frampton. Quigg is constantly stepping up and proving us wrong, he’s not as polished or refined as Frampton but keeps surprising us.

Guillermo Rigondeaux WBO champion 15-0 (KO 10) Cuba 34 years old This is the one you need to watch out for. The others look at Rigondeaux thinking ‘that’s the gold standard’. Everyone who’s watched him knows that he’s the man. Once you beat him, there’s no doubt you’re the best in the world. If you beat Santa Cruz you’re still looking over your shoulder at Rigondeaux. He was down twice in his last fight but it’s about getting back up and winning. It shows he‘s vulnerable and can be beaten, but he’s still the best. Rigondeaux is the best of the four, then Carl Frampton – it’s very close but Rigondeaux has been there longer and boxed a better class. Leo Santa Cruz WBC champion 29-0-1 (KO 17) Mexico 26 years pld Leo Santa Cruz He is very beatable. He doesn’t have the power or boxing ability of Frampton. If you’re not tight and on point, if you have a leak in your defence then Frampton will pick you apart like he did to Avalos. You have seen the shots that Santa Cruz is hit with – you can’t let Frampton have those shots, he’ll put you away with one. ... and, Kid Galahad He fancies it against Frampton and Quigg. He can give them both hell-fire. I think he is lacking the strength of Frampton but, technique-wise, he’d box the ears off Quigg.

Froch-Ward 'should be in UK'

Eddie Hearn says Carl Froch wants to take on Andre Ward in Nottingham and beat him before targeting Gennady Golovkin. Following the WBA's decision to order a showdown between its two belt holders, who fought in America in 2011 with Ward winning on points, Froch stated that he would like to take on Ward in his home city of Nottingham. Promoter Hearn admitted he wants Froch to take on middleweight king Golovkin further down the line but believes the WBA's decision to order a showdown between its two belt-holders has got the super-middleweight's "blood flowing" again. Ward hit back on Twitter saying his rival 'will not dictating anything', but Hearn believes that assessment is completely wrong and that is why the City Ground football stadium in Nottingham is the best possible venue. "What does Ward bring at the moment? Unfortunately Carl dictates everything in this fight." Eddie Hearn Hearn told Sky Sports: "I think Carl feels that at this point, with Ward being out for nearly two years and with the ability to bring the fight to the UK, it's a great chance to beat him – maybe the best chance he'll ever have. "What does Ward bring at the moment? Unfortunately Carl dictates everything in this fight. "Andre Ward is a brilliant fighter, pound-for-pound arguably the best in the world but because of his promotional disputes and inactivity, he really doesn't carry the draw in the US. At all. "People said to me Carl is looking for his Vegas fight so why not fight Ward in Vegas? Two reasons – one it is not that big a fight in America. Two – if Carl Froch is going to beat Andre Ward, we want to have as many advantages as possible. "Carl is very, very difficult to beat in the UK, particularly Nottingham. The atmosphere would be electric and it would be a very, very tough night for Andre Ward. So if we do get this fight in the UK, it is the place it has to be." High-risk Hearn also made no secret that he wants to see Froch take on Golovkin, but not yet. Trainer Robert McCracken recently said he would be happy to put his fighter in with the unbeaten knockout specialist who currently rules the middleweight division. Immediately after beating Britain's Martin Murray in 11 rounds in Monaco two weeks ago, the man from Kazakhstan suggested he may have to move up to super-middleweight for a fresh challenge.

Gennady Golovkin: has got Froch intrigued and Hearn wants them to fight next year And Hearn is convinced if it can be built-up a little longer, Froch may well take on man who is moving up the pound-for-pound rankings. "Him and Rob McCracken will take that fight no problem at all – one day when that fight is dual pay-per-view, and by that I mean it is box office over in the States and over here – and the price is right," said Hearn. "It is a high-risk fight, then I believe you will see that happening the end of the year, early next year. I am confident Carl Froch will fight him. "When you talk about Golovkin, Carl Froch has the curiosity to fight Golovkin because no-one knows how good he really is. We know he's very good but is he exceptional? Can he handle it at 168lbs? "Can he handle it when he's fighting someone who's got a granite chin landing shots back, and is much bigger? So that fascinates Carl, and he wants to find out the answer but the only way to find that out is in the ring."

Brook: Khan talking 'rubbish'

Kell Brook hits back at Amir Khan as argument rages about their elusive British battle

Kell Brook insists Amir Khan is 'running scared' after his bitter rival told him to wait longer for their elusive British battle. The Sheffield man retained his IBF welterweight title with a sixth round stoppage of Frankie Gavin on Saturday night, but admitted afterwards that any hopes of a future showdown with Khan are fading fast.

A bumper domestic showdown has failed to materialise, with Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn suggesting that he cannot make any headway in talks, while Khan instead is focusing his efforts on Floyd Mayweather, claiming that he is closing in on a lucrative clash.   Brook cannot understand why the former light-welterweight world champion would not want to fight for a title in another division and has dismissed his chances of landing a meeting with Mayweather.

Brook: Khan is running scared He told Sky Sports News HQ: "I think he’s full of rubbish. If there is a world title on the line, any fighter that lives with a pair of gloves wants to fight for a world title. "There is no bigger fight in Britain than me and Khan, it sells any arena out. It doesn’t make any sense to me at all, so he’s got to be running scared. "There is no chance of him getting the Floyd Mayweather fight. He’s done nothing to merit that fight. Every time he’s stepped up, he’s got knocked out. I don’t know why he’s playing these games."  Khan had earlier laughed off claims that he was avoiding Brook, but admitted he was not interested in a fight against his bitter foe in the near future.  At the moment I have a different route. I’m going to America and selling out arenas, beating their big names, so I’m not scared. Amir Khan “I think everyone realises that Amir Khan is never scared about fighting anyone,” he told Sky Sports News HQ. “I’ve fought everyone that’s been put in front of me – and I will fight anyone who is put in front of me. “At the moment I have a different route. I’m going to America and selling out arenas, beating their big names, so I’m not scared. “If the fight between Kell and I happens, then my team will put it together, but at the moment I have no interest in it.”
